چکیده
This section of the issue hosts extended versions of the four best papers of the 11th International Symposium on Spatial and Temporal Databases (SSTD 2009). The proceedings of the symposium are published by Springer, as volume 5644 of the series Lecture Notes in Computer Science. More information about it can be found at http://www.springeronline.com/978-3-642-02981-3. For the first time in the SSTD series, the best paper of the symposium was awarded and a few high quality papers were selected and the authors were invited to submit extended versions of their work to Geoinformatica. The paper Spatial Skyline Queries: Exact and Approximation Algorithms, by MuWoong Lee, Wanbin Son, Hee-Kap Ahn, Seung-won Hwang, is an extension of the paper “Spatial Skyline Queries: An Efficient Geometric Algorithm,” by the same authors, which received the best paper award at the symposium. The paper deals with spatial skyline; a query which retrieves the subset of objects in space that are not ‘spatially dominated’ by others with respect to their distances to a set of pivot points. The authors propose a simple and efficient algorithm for spatial skyline evaluation, which correctly computes the result and at the same time it is very efficient compared to previous solutions. Compared to the paper presented at the symposium, the extended version includes additional analytical results and comparison experiments with previous work. In addition, an extension of the proposed approximation algorithm is developed to trace skyline changes, for the case where one of the query points moves in one direction.

Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are areas controlled by specific legislations so as toattain economic prosperity. These zones are commonly established and controlled bygovernment officials and are primarily characterized by growing population and developingtransport infrastructure. One relevant case is the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone(PSEEZ) situated in the south of Iran, on the northern sho...
متن کاملAerosol Optical Depth Spatial and Temporal Variability Using Satellite Data Over Indian Major Cities
Introduction: The study’s main aim is to investigate the long-term variation of Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD). It also aims to show the relationship between meteorological parameters. This study evaluates long-term (2010 to 2021) special and temporal changes over major Indian regions using satellite-based data from NASA’s Terra Satellite. Materials and Methods: This study was carried out during ...

متن کاملSpatio-temporal analysis of the covid-19 impacts on the using Chicago urban shared bicycles by tensor-based approach
Cycling is a phenomenon in urban transportation that has the ability to allocate a specific location at any moment in time. Accordingly, spatial analysis of bicycle trips can be accompanied by temporal analysis. The use of a GIS environment is commonly recommended to display the extent of the phenomenon's spatial changes. However, in order to apply and display changes over time, it will requir...
متن کاملDetermination of Spatial-Temporal Correlation Structure of Troposphere Ozone Data in Tehran City
Spatial-temporal modeling of air pollutants, ground-level ozone concentrations in particular, has attracted recent attention because by using spatial-temporal modeling, can analyze, interpolate or predict ozone levels at any location. In this paper we consider daily averages of troposphere ozone over Tehran city. For eliminating the trend of data, a dynamic linear model is used, then some featu...
